Trend IQ Privacy Policy

At Trend IQ, we take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your information when you use our website, application, and services (collectively, the "Service").
By accessing or using Trend IQ, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following types of personal and technical information:
Personal Information:
- Name
- Email address
- Payment, purchase, subscription, credit, and entitlement information (processed or managed through Stripe, NOWPayments, Apple App Store, Google Play, and RevenueCat as applicable)
Usage Data:
- Pages and tools accessed
- Click activity and interaction with features
- Device type, browser, operating system
- IP address and general location (country/city level)
Chart Image Uploads:
- When you request chart analysis or a Copilot reply, chart screenshots and Copilot attachments are sent to our primary third-party AI provider to generate that result. If a chart-analysis request to that provider fails, that chart screenshot and its market context may be sent to Google Cloud Vertex AI (Gemini) as a fallback. Under the primary provider's API data policy, encrypted API inputs and outputs are retained by default for up to 30 days for abuse auditing and are not used to train models unless Trend IQ explicitly opts in. Google says it will not train or fine-tune models on customer data without prior permission or instruction; prompts detected by automated abuse systems as suspected violations may be logged for review.
- A one-off analysis screenshot is processed for that request and is not stored by Trend IQ. Copilot messages and attachments are saved in conversation history for up to 30 days, or until you delete the conversation or your account, whichever comes first.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To provide and maintain the Service
- To process payments, verify purchases, manage subscriptions, credits, and entitlements, handle refunds, cancellations, billing disputes, and fraud prevention
- To personalize user experience
- To generate the AI analysis or Copilot reply that you request
- To monitor and improve the platform’s performance and reliability
- To understand page visits, feature usage, time spent, and error/performance patterns using self-hosted anonymous analytics
- To send service-related communications (e.g., confirmations, updates)
- To send occasional marketing communications only after a separate opt-in (you can opt out at any time)
3. Payment Processing
We do not store your full credit card or payment card information. Payments, in-app purchases, subscriptions, credit packs, and entitlement updates are processed or managed by Stripe, NOWPayments, Apple App Store, Google Play, and RevenueCat as applicable. You may review the relevant provider’s privacy terms for more details.
4. Analytics and Tracking Technologies
We use self-hosted anonymous analytics to understand page visits, feature usage, time spent in app areas, and error/performance patterns. We do not use analytics to identify account holders.
We do not send account identifiers, uploaded chart images, Copilot chat text, payment identifiers, or full URL query parameters to analytics. Where supported, Do Not Track is respected.
5. Sharing Your Information
We do not sell your personal data.
We may share your information only with trusted third parties when necessary to:
- Process payments, in-app purchases, subscriptions, credit packs, refunds, and entitlement access (Stripe, NOWPayments, Apple App Store, Google Play, and RevenueCat)
- Operate self-hosted anonymous analytics
- Generate requested AI analysis and Copilot replies through our primary third-party AI provider. If a chart-analysis request to that provider fails, generate that analysis through Google Cloud Vertex AI (Gemini) as a fallback. When you request one of these AI features, we send your question or chart image, selected market, symbol and timeframe, and relevant recent prices, indicators, and chart context to the primary provider; only the chart image and analysis context may be sent to Google on fallback. The primary provider's API data policy states that encrypted inputs and outputs are retained by default for up to 30 days for abuse auditing and are not used to train models unless we explicitly opt in. Google's Vertex AI data policy states that customer data is not used to train or fine-tune models without prior permission or instruction, although prompts flagged as suspected abuse may be logged for review.
- Comply with legal obligations or law enforcement requests
- Share limited in-app purchase, entitlement, usage, and consumption information with Apple via RevenueCat. This does not include the contents of your chart analyses.
6. Email Communications
We may contact you with service updates, account notices, or important platform changes.
Marketing and newsletter emails are optional and require a separate opt-in. You can withdraw that choice at any time in Settings or by using the unsubscribe link in a marketing email. Account creation and acceptance of legal terms do not opt you in to marketing.
7. Data Retention
- We retain your account data (such as name and email) for as long as your account is active.
- Trend IQ does not store one-off chart screenshots submitted for analysis. Trend IQ retains Copilot messages and attachments for up to 30 days, or until you delete the conversation or your account, whichever comes first. Separately, our primary third-party AI provider retains encrypted API inputs and outputs by default for up to 30 days for abuse auditing under its API data policy. Google handles fallback chart-analysis requests under its Vertex AI data policy: it does not train or fine-tune on customer data without prior permission or instruction, but prompts flagged as suspected abuse may be logged for review.
- Billing, purchase, refund, cancellation, entitlement, and dispute records may be retained as needed for legal, tax, fraud prevention, platform compliance, and dispute-resolution purposes.
- If you delete your account, your personal data will be permanently deleted within 30 days, except where required by law to retain it longer.
8. Account Deletion & User Rights
You have the right to:
- Request access to the personal data we hold about you
- Correct any inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your account and uploaded data
9. Data Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information and uploaded files against unauthorized access, use, or disclosure.
This includes encryption, secure storage, and strict access control.
However, no system can be 100% secure, and you use Trend IQ at your own risk.
10. Children’s Privacy
Trend IQ is intended for users 18 years or older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18.
If we become aware that a minor has submitted information, we will delete it immediately.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Effective Date" at the top.
If any material changes are made, we will notify users via email or in-app notification.
